I’ve been thinking about how fast electric bikes are evolving and how their motor technology might improve in the future. One idea I came across while reading about electrical systems is the use of Harmonic Filters.
In simple terms, harmonic filters help clean up electrical noise and improve power quality in motors. Since e-bikes rely on battery-driven motors and controllers, I wondered if something like this could one day:
- Reduce heat and energy loss in the motor
- Improve battery efficiency on longer rides
- Make acceleration smoother
- Reduce wear on the controller and motor over time
We already talk a lot about better batteries, charging, and motor design, but maybe improving the electrical quality inside the system could help too.
Do you think adding such tech to e-bikes would make a noticeable difference, or is it too complex for consumer models? Would love to hear opinions from both riders and engineers here.
