An i/o error means that your personal computer fails to read or write information to a device. This is usually caused by loose connections, corrupt system files, incompatible drivers or physical damage of the storage drive. The i/o error can also be presented in case the file system of the device has been corrupted. Troubleshooting involves cable checks, verifying the device using a different port or computer, updating drivers and scanning the disk errors to get the machine running again.
